This weekend, a lot is happening on Saturday, November 7. The day starts with outdoor art-making at Van Vleck House & Gardens, moves to a scholarship card party and a glow-in-the-dark Family Rave at Lackawanna Station in the afternoon and ends with a 50th anniversary tribute to The Band’s “The Last Waltz” at the Montclair Art Museum, with proceeds going to Toni’s Kitchen. Here are the things to do in Montclair this weekend, November 6 through 8.

Game Day Scholarship Fundraiser

Family Rave at Lackawanna Station

Family Rave is back at Lackawanna Station, and the organizers say this one is “bigger, louder, glowier” than the original. The afternoon has music, games, inflatables and a giant ball pit. There are separate areas for toddlers and for older kids and adults, plus a VIP section. Children under 14 must come with a parent or legal guardian. Parking is paid, and tickets are nonrefundable. Get tickets on Eventbrite.
The Band’s Last Waltz: 50 Years of Music
Saturday, November 7, 6:30 to 10:30 p.m.; show at 7:30 p.m. | Leir Hall, Montclair Art Museum, 3 S. Mountain Ave. | $34.74 to $43.14
On Thanksgiving night in 1976, The Band played its farewell concert, and Martin Scorsese filmed it as “The Last Waltz.” ROSTAFA & Co. has restaged that concert in Montclair as a holiday fundraiser since 2023 and says it has raised more than $15,000 for charity. For the 50th anniversary, the organizers say this year’s lineup of North Jersey musicians, Montclair musicians among them, is the largest ensemble to perform the event in the United States. Proceeds go to Toni’s Kitchen, the nonprofit that provides food, clothing and other resources to people in need. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., introductions start at 7 and the show begins at 7:30. An afterparty at the MC Hotel runs from 10:30 p.m. until closing. Buy tickets through SimpleTix.
