East Orange Teacher Reviews the New School Slushies — Here’s the Honest Take

Here at The Montclair Pod, we are always reporting on the hard hitting news in town. Last week’s episode we spoke about the slushie machines added to the districts Middle and High Schools. This week, we came across a TikTok from an East Orange teacher, Stefany, who dared to review the infamous Sodexo pineapple mango and strawberry slushies.

Stefany shares her candid thoughts about both flavors and I can’t say I’m not intrigued to try one myself!

Stefany tried the new school slushies so we don’t have to. She tested the pineapple mango and strawberry flavors and gave her honest review — the pineapple mango was just okay, but the strawberry was way too sweet and earned a zero star review. Check out Stefany’s TikTok to get the full scoop.

The official review

Overall: The slushies cost $2 for a small 9-oz cup and are made with 100% fruit juice. They’re very icy (more ice than juice) and feel a bit old-school in texture. Overall, they’re just okay and not something she’d rush to buy again.

Pineapple Mango: Mildly sweet with a very icy consistency. Not amazing, but drinkable and the better option of the two if you’re hot and want something refreshing.

Strawberry: Extremely sweet and overpowering. She found it unpleasant and couldn’t finish it, giving it a “hard pass” compared to the pineapple mango flavor.

Sure, the review wasn’t glowing… but a cold fruit slushie with a walking taco? Count me in.

Has your child tried the slushies at school? If so, let us know their thoughts!
